MLB Rivalry Weekend is officially here, featuring regional matchups and heated rivalries across the league. While this may not be baseball’s fiercest rivalry, the Tampa Bay Rays (28-14) host the Miami Marlins (20-24) for a three-game set beginning Friday night at Tropicana Field in the “Battle of Florida,” also known as the Citrus Series.

Right-hander Janson Junk, who owns a 3.25 ERA through eight starts, is scheduled to take the mound for Miami. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay will turn to swingman Jesse Scholtens, who is set to make his third start and seventh appearance of the season. Scholtens has yet to pitch beyond 5.2 innings in a start this year and owns a 6.10 ERA as a starter, so expect the Marlins’ lineup to come out aggressive early.

Marlins vs. Rays Moneyline Pick: Rays -125

The Rays have been one of the hottest teams in baseball, winning 16 of their last 19 games while posting the best record in the American League. Despite dropping their most recent game against Toronto, Tampa Bay enters Friday in much better form than Miami.
